In Year 11 and 12, kids are bombarded on working to get a good TER and when they do, they head off to uni.

As their support crew, we parents invest in tutoring and set up Year 11 and 12 as their learning gateway to achieve as well as they possibly can.

If they are lucky enough to get into uni, they begin four years of hard study to get that degree.

But what gets missed in this flurry of activity?

Their jobs.

Scrap that – their careers.

Meaningful roles that support their studies and ultimately set them up for success over the next three decades of their working life.

Too often, these smart, ambitious and motivated young adults take a role in a juice bar or flipping burgers.

Because they are not trained or mentored in the most important thing – their career.

Hi, I’m Kara Atkinson and I’ve recruited leadership roles for 25 years and placed more than 1000 Sales Leaders into their next role.  I see a really big gap in our young people’s careers in their first three roles.  They flip and flop between maybe retail, maybe different industries, maybe get bored after 9 months – and then down the line, I watch my clients pass on interviewing them because their direction and motivation is totally unclear.

I believe the first three roles your child takes has a huge impact on how they are set up for the rest of their career.

And that’s why I’ve set up First3.  To give them the tools, knowledge and skills for their first three roles to totally change the game of the rest of their career.

Sorry retail, you’re gonna take a hit.

Your child will directly access the experience of one of Australia’s top recruiters.  25 years placing more than 1,000 leaders distilled into practical experience, know how and education on getting them a role that leverages their passion, hard work and TER.

First3 gives high school and uni graduates:

  1. A resume to get noticed by hiring professionals
  2. A network strategy to uncover their first three roles linked to their passion/study
  3. An interview technique that results in a job offer

Like anything, the more time, the more success your child will have in their first three roles.

The curriculum includes two compulsory sessions of 45 mins each.  One session will focus on how your child builds their professional profile and network to identify their future role, and the next session will show them how to nail their interview.

These two sessions will be supported by work sheets and ‘how to’ manuals to ensure your child becomes skilled in getting employed in meaningful work.  A skill they can use now, and for the rest of their working lives.

Motivation.  This is not a personal development course.  Whilst exuding confidence is a key module covered in the interview session, students are expected to participate in First3 motivated to learn and invested in their own career success.

As soon as they are ready. Sessions are online and timetabled weekly.
